A Healing Heart

I have been listening to the song that plays first on my play list on this blog. I blogged about it a couple of days ago and put the words up. I have needed this song this last week or so. It reminds me, it is not about me. Who am I? I am HIS!!!! That is all I need to know. I can rest in that and quit wrestling all the things going on in life around me. Forget broken relationships and heart ache and grieving. I am one of His beloved. Even though my heart wanders and I don't always do the right thing, He loves me and still lights my path. But more than anything I mean something to Him. He loves me. Imagine that.... a Holy God loves me. It is almost too big to put my mind around.

I have two favorite hymns. Be Thou My Vision and Come Thou Fount. In the third verse of Come Thou Fount it talks about my wandering heart. Prone to wander, Lord I feel it.... Then asking Him to take it and seal it for His courts. Again, it is not me, but His doing. Because of what He's done.... I am His. PRAISE GOD!!!!!

O to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.

Wonderful lyrics. I have enjoyed casting crowns since their first album. So many wonderful deep lyrics from hymns to inspire and motivate us well....

Great post Marci! Did you see I posted the lyrics to this on my Stitches of Grace Blog on Sunday? Be Thou My Vision, It Is Well With My Soul and Amazing Grace are my favorites...unless I start thinking too much and then I will come up with others! :o)

Be Thou My Vision is also a favourite hymn of mine. I love the words!

I also wanted to say "Hi". It's been so quiet at OFT forum and I really miss talking to everyone there. Maybe we should wake things up over there and see if we can get the conversations started again! :o)

Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing your heart. It's quite an act of mercy for Him to love me like He does! Thanks for sharing the words of the second hymn, as well. That is one of my favorites.
