I know that many areas of the country are having severe flooding. I was looking at pictures on line today. It is horrible. We are in need of rain. So, Praise the Lord He sent some our way. Maybe He diverted it from one of those areas where they are praying for no rain. We have had some good rain though and we are so thankful. Most of the storms today went north of us. However, I all of a sudden realized it had gotten pretty dark. I grabbed the camera and headed outside. These first 2 pictures are of the low hangin ceiling of clouds.
I was blessed today with getting some help from dear Miss Anna. She came over and picked my tomatoes and peppers for me. I was back in the office for a minute and I heard her come in the back door calling for me. I kept hearing a sound like small metal marbles rolling around in the big metal bowl I had sent outside with her. I asked her what I was hearing. She came around the corner with this cicada in her hand. Bless her heart, she was not the least bit afraid. My first comment was, "Don't let it go in the house." My second one was, "let me get my camera." =)
She said they were everywhere in my garden. Makes me want to go out there... NOT!!
Here is the produce that she picked for me. I know what I will be doing tomorrow. =)
We have a large chest freezer that we bought used. It is 28 cubic feet I believe. Anyway, the door to it broke awhile back and I could not open it. If you did, the liner fell out and then you could not close it. It was also in a very inconvenient place. Stuff got really old in it. We saw stuff dated 2002. So, we cleaned it out on Saturday. In it, I found some bee hive cappings. Why I froze them is beyond me. However, I have been working with them to try and save the beeswax. I think it is going to work. Each time I go through the cleaning process it gets a bit cleaner. However, I have beeswax over several of my pots and a strainer that I use often. It is NOT easy to get off either.
