Best Price in America -- Save 50% on Henty Classics Library!

“To be a true hero you must be a true Christian. To sum up then, heroism is largely based on two qualities — truthfulness and unselfishness, a readiness to put one’s own pleasure aside for that of others, to be courteous to all, kind to those younger than yourself, helpful to your parents, even if helpfulness demands some slight sacrifice of your own pleasure... You must remember that these two qualities are the sign of Christian heroism.” —G.A. Henty

Henty and providing a short summary of each title. Now, through October 7, save 50% on our 70-Vol. Henty Classics Library — only $699 for the entire set!

Henty: The Home Schooler’s Friend

Doug Phillips writes: My sons travel with me often. The books one usually find in my eldest son’s pack include the Bible and a stash of Hentys.

As a practical matter, G.A Henty has been a tool of the Lord to cultivate in my son a ferocious passion for history and to impart to him (in a way that often astonishes Beall and me) a nearly encyclopedic retention of the facts of hundreds of key events in history. On dozens, if not hundreds of occasions, the Henty series has afforded me opportunities to engage my teenage son in rich, meaningful conversations about the greatest events in history, the men behind the events, and the theology which drove those men. Whether the subject was ancient Egypt, the fall of the temple at Jerusalem, the Crusades, or the British colonization of India, the Henty historical fiction novels have been a source of never-ending blessed discussion in our home.

As a home-schooling father, I am deeply grateful for the role Henty has played in the life of my son. Henty books are fun, fact-filled, and downright manly. In my view, boys who read Henty are more inclined to love history and to aspire to manliness — two crucial needs in our present generation.

The Significance of Building a Henty Library

Leaders are readers. Our Founding Fathers knew this, which is why they took efforts to build great libraries for themselves and their posterity. Even if you already own a partial G.A. Henty set, you might consider purchasing a complete library for each of your children or grandchildren. This special offer gives you the opportunity to start building a classic library for your family at a fraction of the normal price, which, in my view, is one of the more important legacies one generation can leave for the next.

As an adult, I must sy, I love Henty books, and we own a few. I am sure that my girls will enjoy them for the historical content, although, not like a boy. Nonetheless, I plan to read them to them. Too bad I don't have that kind of money right now.
