We are very blessed to live on a farm. We love old fashioned ways of doing things that seem to be fading away. We realize that this lifestyle is not for everyone but we are very grateful that God allows us to enjoy it.

Show And Tell Friday
Kelli hosts a show and tell Friday. Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!
I want to share with you my globe. This is a very old globe. It belonged to my Grandpa. I love to look at it up close and see all the changes that have taken place in the world. I left the pictures quite large so you can read the names of places. I have no idea how old it is. I wish I knew how to find out.

How wonderful it is to have something that was once your Grandpa's. I know it must mean so much to you.
I love globes, maps, geography. It has always intrigued me. What a fun treasure from your Grandpa! Blessings.

What a wonderful old globe. I am sure it is very valuable since some of the countries named on it are no longer in existence. It would be nice if you could find out the age of it. What a heirloom to pass on to the next generation.
old Soviet is on there too. Can't find that in the new ones. what a nice oiece.
That's so cool.
My show and tell is shared, if you have time, I'd love for you to drop by.
The fact that is belonged to your grandpa just adds to the treasure. Globes are always an eye catcher.
Now see, what is the point of learning geography if everything changes anyway? Just kidding!
What a great treasure. Perhaps YOUR grandchildren will have it someday!
Wonderful treasure! The colors are amazing. Really nice condition. Thanks for sharing.
SO neat Marci!
Such a wonderful vintage globe, made that much more special because it belonged to your grandpa!! I found this web site that helps you date your globe: http://www.replogleglobes.com/howOldIsYourGlobe.php
Hope that helps:-) xox
Your globe is so cool! I love old maps and globes as well. It's fun to see how the names of place have changed.
What a treasure from your Grandpa! I imagine a lot has changed in names and boundaries over the years.
What a treasure. Globes are such cool things. I remember playing a game when I was a kid. I would spin the globe, jab my finger down and tell myself that wherever it landed, THAT is where I would live when I grew up. It allowed me to visit so many places in my imagination!
What a wonderful treasure to have! It would be interesting to compare it side by side with a current globe and see what has changed. :)
Oh, an old globe, what a wonderful family treasure! It immediately reminded me of the globe my grandparents had when I was a little child. It always was great fund to make a cruise around the world, just with your finger!
Thanks a lot for your nice comment! Our garden is around 500 square meters big. And yes, my neighbours do garden, too - but not the way I do!... People often stop at our garden fence and admire our little paradise and tell me that it would be far too much work for them to maintain such a garden. Well, for me, it's not at all "work", it the best one spare time activity I can imagine!
The other side is that I often don't have enough time for all the things I'd like to do! On top of gardening and housekeeping, I still have a full time office job that keeps me very busy these days!
Have a wonderful Friday!
Best wishes from Germany,

That is so nice to have something of your grandpa's. Maybe you can google it and get some idea of the age. Does it have any markings or stamps on the bottom of the base?
