Gardens and Tid Bits

The garden is planted. I would still like to put in some sunflower seeds and maybe some pumpkin seeds. Everything is doing well except for one row of lima beans. I am not sure why just one row though. I have more, so maybe I will plant them over. My dear sweet man has put in most all of the garden with some help from our little farm hand who stayed with us and by using one of his birthday coupons and having the youngest Wonderful Neighbor boy help. My scarecrow looks a bit on the gloomy side. I need to spruce her up a bit. I think she needs a hat you can see. :)

After watching the how-to video and talking to Marion about making a shawl, I decided to do a practice shawl on the smallest size. I got started on it last night. This is just regular old yarn from the store.

Michael had to run to town last night. He stopped at the bank on the way home to drop off a deposit. There was a wallet laying in the driveway of the bank. He picked it up and brought it home. He was in a hurry to get here and finish chores. He gave the wallet to me and told me to try and find the owner. There were lots of cards of all sorts and pictures. Then buried inside one of the pockets I found the driver's license. I looked him up in the phone book and called and left a message. We figured he had gone back to look for his wallet. We did not get a call last night and it really surprised us. I got a call this morning from his daughter-in-law. She told me that his wife is in a hospital down in Columbus. She has cancer. They called him and told him she was going to emergency surgery last night. He had stopped at the bank on the way. She is picking up his wallet this morning and taking it and his medications he forgot down to him. I want to be praying for this man and his wife. I am glad it was Michael who found the wallet.

The sun is already up and shining. Time to get some things done.

Love the scarecrow! A friend has one of triangle looms and it really looks interesting. Can't wait to see the finished product.
