We got the winds this week that many of you did. There is not many leaves left on the trees. I got this right before the storms. :)
We are very blessed to live on a farm. We love old fashioned ways of doing things that seem to be fading away. We realize that this lifestyle is not for everyone but we are very grateful that God allows us to enjoy it.

Holiday Get Togethers
I have always dreamed of future holidays. Having all the family come home and reminiscing and enjoying each other. That was my picture with my twelve children. Reality says that the huge reunions I picture probably won't happen as God gave us just one child. We do have large families eat at our house sometimes. When our fellowship meets here we enjoy a fellowship meal together. What is the big problem with large numbers of people? Having enough dining chairs. We use high chairs, piano benches, stairs, couches, rockers, etc. We have a table that you can get 10 to 12 around. What do you use when you have a big gathering at your house?
We are not always the most popular place for holiday meals though because we don't have TV. :) Imagine having to sit around and just visit and wonder what your team is doing, what quarter the game is in and what the score is. :) It makes me smile to watch them fidget. Now with the fancy phones, it makes it easy to check all of that.
CSN Stores once again is giving me the opportunity of working with them. The last gift certificate they gave me went to a wonderful woman named Karen. She will be writing a review of the product she chose. I will post the review when I receive it.
Are any of you making big holiday preparations? I would love to hear how many are coming to your house, or where you go?

Update On Prayer Requests
We just got home from the hospital. My Dad got an all clear from the doctor. She said you could not even tell he had the heart attack and that his heart looked good. All of his stents are working properly. They are going to adjust his medications. At some point in the future they want to do his leg veins. Thank you all for praying!!!
Update on Fern... She is home and over the medication scare. Her back is still bad and they will have to figure out what to do with it, but she is home from the hospital!! Another praise and another thank you for praying!!!

LATE- Count Your Blessings Monday!!
Here is an opportunity for all of us to give thanks unto the Lord for a blessing in our lives. If you would like to take part great. If not that is OK too. If you would like to share your blessing, just leave it in the comments. If you want to use the picture above and list a blessing on your own site, then leave a URL to your site in the comments. There is no pressure here. I just know that I am incredibly blessed and I would like to share that and give thanks to Him who all blessing come from. This is a way that we can encourage one another. I know that I am often encouraged when someone shares a blessing with me. I think that many times we forget that it is a blessing to be able to breath, to get out of bed, to hold a baby... Share your blessings with us. We can share so many other things.... special gifts, recipes, let's take the time to share how God has blessed us!!
I am a day late. We had a very busy weekend, but a blessed one. On Saturday, we got the blessing of being in a Bible study with Michael Card. There were only about 30 people there. He was walking around talking to everyone and shaking hands. :) The Bible study was excellent. He has really great insights. He taught on the book of look. You can see a video of him teaching (at another time, not when we were there) here. Then we went to his concert that evening. If you ever get a chance to see him in concert... GO!!!! He is so down to earth and real. He played a couple of his new songs and kept making mistakes because he did not know them yet. :) After... the Bible study, I got to ask him a question about one of the things he said in the Bible study. I had heard him say it several years ago. He had everyone that was standing around looking up the verse in their version. :) Then I told him, how God has used him back in 1999 with something he said and one of the songs he sang. He saw me at the concert that evening and during the concert said that a woman had shared with him that afternoon about how God had used him to speak to her heart. He said this song is for her and he sang the song again. :) I was thrilled and crying. It was a great evening. Also, Ginny Owens was there and sang as well. That is the first time I had heard her and I really enjoyed her music and especially the words to her music.
Then on Sunday we had some good fellowship time. The teaching was on sanctification. We shared a fellowship meal and some good fellowship time together. I asked my Sister-in-law, "How many people go to church and come home with a rooster and 4 bags of feed?" The home we were meeting at had some new feed we wanted to try for our laying hens, plus they had an extra rooster and we needed one. :)
Another prayer request for my family. My oldest brother's wife, Fern has been having back issues which eventually have made her bed ridden. She has fatty lipids in her spinal column. They don't know what they are or how they got there. They are not sure how to help her. She was on Oxycodone (sp?) and some sort of muscle relaxer. She started to have a reaction so they gave her something to counter it (an antihistamine or something). She started to freak out, so they sedated her. They were giving her a CT scan when she came to and she freaked out again and was uncontrollable. So, they sedated her again and they kept her sedated most of the weekend. She is in the ICU. She was a wee bit better yesterday and was able to talk a little bit.
My Dad is having his heart cath this Wednesday.

A Couple of Prayer Requests
The first one is for Brason. He is Brittany's 5 (soon to be 6) year old brother. He is all boy and plays hard. He and some others were horsing around and he fell funny on his leg. He broke his femur up near the hip. It was a long break and took a surgery to set it. This little guy is very active and for 2 months he will be in this cast. It is a body cast from the waist down and includes both legs. He will have to lay down or be in a reclining chair or wheel chair. Please pray for his quick and complete healing and for his little mind to be occupied so that he does not get discouraged with his long time of being in the cast.
He has lots of siblings to gather around him and read to him. That is one of the blessings of a large family.
The second prayer request is for my Dad. If you remember, he had a heart attack earlier this year. He has been in rehab and today was his last day. They did some stress tests yesterday and they came back abnormal. He will be undergoing another heart cath in the coming week.
Thanks to all of you who will pray.

Farm Stuff :)
We set up a fenced area out our back door for the puppy. That way we can just let her out the door when taking her for a walk is not convenient. We are not letting her run loose because there is too much traffic over here and she does not get out of the way of cars. When she whines to come in, this is the site that I see. I still have to smile really big every time. I love it!!!
All you can see is the top of her head and those ears. She is so cute.
I keep telling her to fix her ears and then hold them down. :) Then I tell her she is a good girl. They are not sticking straight up anymore.

Star got a nasty infection and has been taking some antibiotics. We really thought we were going to lose her.
The mother cat that just showed up one day had a second litter of kittens. Each night when we put the milk out for OUR cat, the Momma and her babies fight over it. The people who live in our apartment will be moving to their own place soon. They want to take the Mom and all the babies. YIPPEE!!!
Here is my sweet Daughter-in-love holding Skye. I was trying to get a good picture of Skye's face and she was not being very cooperative. So Brittany helped me out.
We lovingly call Brittany Ellie Mae (Clampet) because all the critters love her. These are wild kittens that hiss at everyone else.

Today, I am thankful for the Mom that God gave me. Five years ago today, I got that phone call that everyone dreads. My Mom did not wake up that morning here on Earth, but in that heavenly home above. It is the hardest thing I have ever faced and still hurts so much. She is missed daily.
I take this day each year to remind people to tell the people in their lives that they love them. Mend any broken fences and make right all relationships, because you never know when one of you will be gone. My Mom went to bed totally healthy as far as we knew and never woke up. Time is too precious to leave rifts in relationships.
