It Is Time to Get Gardens Going!!!

It's that time of year again. Time to get our gardens going. I always get so excited when it is time to start putting the garden in. We have already tilled several spots and planted onions, potatoes and peas. We have also planted some lettuce seeds.

We garden organically, and you have to stay on top of things or you can get into trouble. One of the main reasons we grow a garden is to be able to have healthy good produce without all the nasty chemicals that are out there. There are many different things you can do or even products you can use on your garden. First of all find some resources that will help you. I have people I can call, books I can consult and several web pages to give me ideas. There is a good blog out there that helps you come up with all sorts of ideas. Go on over and visit at My Organic Gardening Blog. There are all sorts of ideas and useful information for you. I like the way they look at different angles and help you think outside the box. One of the posts was on maintaining a worm farm. It is a lot easier than it seems. The gardeners over there also promote a brand name of garden products that they recommend. You can get 20% off of Safer Brand products by using coupon code

SBSSMOGB.
We are trying to plan our garden so that we have a good rotation of what goes where. I also have some new raised beds to put stuff into. The garlic is coming up really well in one raised bed. Our last frost date is usually around May 20th. I did not get any seeds started yet, so I will probably have to buy plants. I would also like to add some strawberries this year.

Have you started your garden yet? Here are some pictures of my garden through the years. :) It helps to get me even more motivated!!!

Oh I can't wait to get in the soil! Just waiting for my honey to have time to cultivate it. We'll still have some frosts but like you want to get in those potatoes and onions and lettuce.

Yes, we do have some of our garden planted. It is such a blessing to have neighbors who share their rototiller with us. I know our lives would be very different without them.....

I have planted lots and lots of flowers. I hope they grow. I want to plant a food garden but I really don't know where to start. My yard has lots of trees and a great majority of it is int he shade.

Your garden looks lovely! I live in a tightly packed suburb, so there is very little room to garden, though I do hope to build a small raised bed to grow some broccoli and lettuce in next year.
Blessings,
