A Must See

Facing the Giants is a movie that was made by a church in Georgia. Most people hear that a movie is made by a church and they automatically assume, it is second rate. This movie was out in the theatres. Everyone we knew who saw the movie, went on and on about how good it was. It did not show anywhere really close to us, so we waited for it to come out on DVD, which it did at the end of January.

My husband and I watched it last night. I am NOT a football fan in any way, shape or form. I despise it. This was a movie centered around football. I LOVED this movie. Oh, the message in it is so strong and so right on. It is a message not just for playing football, but for all of life. We are to do all that we do as unto the Lord. We should do it to the best of our ability. However, the key is to leave the results to God. Praise Him if you win, and praise Him if you lose. Just walk away knowing you did your very best for Him. My husband and I cried through much of this movie. It seemed tailor made for us in many ways. We have tried to get pregnant for almost 28 years. We are in need of a truck and a better car. Our cars we have break down often. There are many things around our house that need done. All of these things were in this movie. When the movie was over, we both got on our knees and had a good long talk with God. We are going to praise Him if the car starts, or if it need some help. We are going to praise Him in our house with all the problems. We are going to praise Him that our barns need help. We are going to do our very best and leave any results up to Him. If we are able to get another car or a truck we will praise Him. If we have to keep borrowing our friend's trucks, we will praise Him. We will know that we are doing our very best for our Lord and that will be all that matters to us. We want to be found faithful!!!!!

The weather is VERY cold here. For the next several days we will have wind chills below zero. Hope ya'll stay warm!

Marci,

We feel the same way about this movie. It really made us realize how much we fall short as far as praising God no matter what happens. We also have car problems and the heater in my van is going out which has meant several really cold rides to piano, etc. But, I need to remember to be thankful whether we have heat in the van or not.

Marci, thank you for writing about this film. My husband and I saw it in the theater - we hadn't been to a movie in a theater in years because there has not been much worth seeing. This film is wonderful - so God honoring and faith building. It is a must see for all believers.

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. The CEO at work actually gave many of his Administrative staff an assignment to watch this and write a paper on it. Interesting.
Brrrrrrr.........
