It's time to do another give away!!! We are going to be giving away a Yogurt Cheese Strainer!! These are wonderful tools to have. You can make your own yogurt and use them, or you can buy it at the store and use it. If you like Greek style yogurt you can strain the regular kind and make a thicker yogurt with this. I like to drain it and then use the thick yogurt that is left as cream cheese or even sour cream. You can use the whey that is drained off in other recipes or feed to your animals.

What a great giveaway. I'd sure love to win. I started making my own yogurt last summer. One thing that I do the old fashioned way in the kitchen is baking. I make things from scratch, start to finish. Pie crusts and pie fillings, milk to yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies to canned, preserved foods. I love being able to extend the harvest.
I grind my coffee in my great-grandmother's coffee mill every day! It makes the best coffee ever!
Would love to try this. I try very hard to eat healthy and even make my own bread from scratch including grinding my own wheat. I think this would be great too.
I enjoy canning, cooking from scratch and soap making! A yogurt strainer sounds so awesome! All my previous tries at yogurt making have been a watery mess:(
i cook from scratch for 3 meals a day every day.. i make yogurt too! and i make cheese- very novice at this-.

I make oat meal on the stove almost every day for breakfast, I can't imagine going back to eating the instant kind! I also compost all of our kitchen waste and use it in the garden. And I LOVE making my own yogurt. So easy and frugal!
I kneed my bread by hand instead of using the bread machine.
What a wonderful give away! I'm working on learning how to do as much as I can the old fashioned way. So far I cook from scratch, bake bread (and everything else), can as much as we can grow, have been trying to learn to make cheese, start seeds for our garden in the kitchen windows, and hatch chicks (in one corner of the kitchen) each Spring. I'm trying to learn as many of the old ways as I can and to try to teach them to my own children.
Good grief, I bake everything from scratch, I culture my own dairy I keep a sourdough starter...I love the old fashioned way. I think it creates the warmth and well being in our home. Slowing down to enjoy the process.

We make our own butter using fresh cream (whenever we can get it!). Have always wanted to venture into cheese making, this looks like a great first step. Really enjoy your blog! Keep up the good work.
I boil tea bags on the stove in a pan to make iced tea rather than using instant or a iced tea machine. I don't have an electric can opener. We pop popcorn in a pan on the stove. Cooking and baking as much as possible from scratch is important to me. I hope to make my own yogurt, kefir, soap, and toiletries soon!
We grind our own gluten-free flour in a grind-stone grinder. We also make all our own herbal salve, soap, and tea from bulk herbs. And we make all our meals from scratch. So often the old-fashioned way is the healthier way!
We try to make everything homemade :-) We started with a Kefir starter and that didn't pan out so we got some Kefir grains off of a friend and our son knocked the glass jar off the counter and broke the jar. So no more Kefir grains. We tried making our own yogurt but it was very runny so we have to try again.
