So no more Kefir grains. We tried making our own yogurt but it was very runny so we have to try again.Mark Hewitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14644912859222252366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-59761713926315860562012-02-13T17:07:47.532-05:002012-02-13T17:07:47.532-05:00We grind our own gluten-free flour in a grind-ston...We grind our own gluten-free flour in a grind-stone grinder. I don't have an electric can opener. We pop popcorn in a pan on the stove. Cooking and baking as much as possible from scratch is important to me. So far I cook from scratch, bake bread (and everything else), can as much as we can grow, have been trying to learn to make cheese, start seeds for our garden in the kitchen windows, and hatch chicks (in one corner of the kitchen) each Spring. I'm trying to learn as many of the old ways as I can and to try to teach them to my own children.Pebehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16780152879563066049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-38888096753380421292012-02-08T22:53:04.337-05:002012-02-08T22:53:04.337-05:00I kneed my bread by hand instead of using the brea...I kneed my bread by hand instead of using the bread machine.Missyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10328022532018010780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-3221309050570090322012-02-08T18:40:38.106-05:002012-02-08T18:40:38.106-05:00I make oat meal on the stove almost every day for ...I make oat meal on the stove almost every day for breakfast, I can't imagine going back to eating the instant kind! I make things from scratch, start to finish. Pie crusts and pie fillings, milk to yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies to canned, preserved foods. I love being able to extend the harvest.Farmgirl Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07550237327556460565noreply@blogger.com
