Today in my Life

Today, is a day to remember. Three years ago on this day, my dear, sweet, wonderful Mom went home to be with Jesus. She was totally healthy as far we knew. She just did not wake up in the morning. I have written other posts that tell all of the neat things God brought about before she went to allow those she loved to have a bit more time with her than usual. I had talked to her for an hour on the phone the day before. These were all gifts to us from a loving Heavenly Father. I treasure them.

Today is a sad day in many respects, but it is also a day of celebrating my Mom's graduation!! It was a step up for her. She is in the presence of the Almighty King. That is an awesome thought.

I hope and pray that you remember to tell those you love on a regular basis how much they mean to you and how much you love them. Make right any rifts between you and those you love. We are not promised a tomorrow and you don't want regrets. I know that I preach this often, but our lives are so busy anymore. We are always on the go doing things. We need reminders of what is truly important. I am going to share some pictures with you.

Here is a picture of my parents when they first got married.

My Mom is on the left in this picture. She is pregnant with me. Somehow this picture and the next one filled a hole that I had. They truly mean something to me.

Here is my Mom holding me at just a few days old. I love the way she is looking at me. She is 27 years old.

This is the day we celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary.

This is me, my Mom and her Mom. We keep getting taller. Now, Joshua is 6' 2". =)

This is at my house the Christmas that my Grandma lived with us. She loved baby dolls. I believe she is 94 years old here.

Here is my Mom with my son, Joshua. She was a wonderful Grandma and all her grandchildren loved her.

This was one thing that cracked me up about my Mom. She had a Gameboy and loved to play it. She usually played Dr. Mario. =)

This is one of the pictures I really love. It was for their church directory one year.

Thanks for letting me share my Mom and my memories with you today.

Thank you for sharing your pictures of your mother. Your mother was a very beautiful lady. And as for the game boy..... I am still laughing and saying you go MOM!

Marci, thanks for sharing the pictures. The game boy is too funny.

Keep preaching reconciliation. It was in part thanks to you that I recently reconciled with my mom after 2 years of no contact.

Have a peaceful day remembering the wonderful relationship with your mom.

Thank you for sharing your mom with us. It does get easier-as time goes by-to remember the good and happy things on the anniversary of a death. My dad died when I was 17-it took me a long time, but now I always remember the happy things and all the goofy things I loved about him too-like your mom with the GameBoy-I love that!
I hope you have a good day-remembering your mom with all the love you have for her and all the love I'm sure she had for you.

Thank you for sharing about your Mom. My mom passed 25 years ago this month. I understand the way you remember this day. There is not a year that goes by that I don't remember when Mom went to be with the Lord.

I love that you called it a "graduation." How appropriate. What a lovely day of remembrance.

Keep your head up, my friend. It is a bittersweet feeling...happy for the parent that left and went to be with the Lord, but a bit of an empty feeling left here for us. I too am on the same 3 three year journey without my dad.
grace and peace,

Your mother was beautiful. I also love the picture of her holding you as a baby. Having a mother's love stays with us for a lifetime and blesses generation after generation. I know if you could talk to her today, she would tell you again how proud she is of you.

Your Mom is really beautiful! (I bet she's even prettier now!) Thanks for sharing these pics. I think it's cool that you have a photo of her pg with you and I love not only the way she is looking at you but the way you are looking at her. I'm glad she is with the Lord, but I know that loss is loss and that is sometimes hard. {HUGS}
