Country Life

Living in the country is like a gift to me.  I love to be surrounded by farm land.  When we get up in the morning to milk the cow, it is still dark.  We stand outside and look at the stars in the night sky.  It is so amazing!!!  We both saw a shooting star a couple of mornings ago.  Then we start calling the cow.  The Wonderful Neighbor's rooster starts crowing in their coop.  Pretty soon our rooster answers him and we get a rooster war going.  This morning we got a scare.  As we were walking back to the house, a black shadow darted out.  It was the WN's dog.  He had been over visiting ours.  He is black and did not show up right away.

Last evening, the sun was setting and the light on the trees and the field behind us was beautiful.  Autumn lighting is different somehow.  More diffused or something.  The bottom of the treeline was in darkness, but the top part of the trees were lit up by the sun.

I get to see this beautiful view out my back door.
Our cow, Clover has been over visiting a bull.  Michael brought her home last night.  She came home with an attitude.  They are having a stand off.  :)

Dear Marci, I just found your blog and wanted to tell you how much I loved it. Tears are flowing down my cheeks as I type this. It was so wonderful to find someone with the same goals as we have. My husband and I have a small farm in West Virginia and it is our goal to be as self sufficent as we can be but we also know that we cannot be anything with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has blessed us and our farm so much. I too keep a blog crossedarrowsfarm@blogspot.com If you have time, stop by and read sometime. Keep up the good work, I will be a faithful follower. May God continue to bless you, your ister in Christ, Rebecca Whetsell
