Count Your Blessings Monday

Here is an opportunity for you to give thanks unto the Lord for a blessing in your life. If you have a blog, please sign Mr. Linky below and post on your blog. Please link back to this blog and you may use the picture above. If you do not have a blog, leave a comment on this post telling us what you are thankful for and what you are counting as a blessing today. This is a way that we can encourage one another. Many of our blessings we will have pictures of and we can share those as well. I think that many times we forget that it is a blessing to be able to breath, to get out of bed, to hold a baby... Share your blessings with us. They encourage others. We can share so many other things.... special gifts, recipes, let's take the time to share how God has blessed us!!

Today the blessing I am counting is that God's mercies are new every day and He perseveres with us. I may blow it today, but He is still my Heavenly Father. There may be consequences, but tomorrow is mercies are refreshed. I never run out. I am also so thankful that He keeps on bringing me home when I tend to wander. He loves me as His own dear child. I can crawl up in His lap and look out at all that goes on around me. From up there, it is not scary or hard. I can rest.

We have a friend who is an older gentleman. He is one of those people that others are drawn to. My husband had recently asked him some advice on some things going on. His advice was to focus on the Savior. To draw near to Him, to strengthen our relationship with Him. As we do that and abide in Him then He abides in us and He will direct and lead our every step. He told us not to worry about others or about the problem, but just to focus on the Lord. That is where we want to be.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Thank you for the reminder...so many times we take our eyes off of the Lord and place them on "material" things.
