Show And Tell Friday

Kelli hosts a show and tell Friday. Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!

I want to share with you my globe. This is a very old globe. It belonged to my Grandpa. I love to look at it up close and see all the changes that have taken place in the world. I left the pictures quite large so you can read the names of places. I have no idea how old it is. I wish I knew how to find out.

What a wonderful old globe. I am sure it is very valuable since some of the countries named on it are no longer in existence. It would be nice if you could find out the age of it. What a heirloom to pass on to the next generation.

The fact that is belonged to your grandpa just adds to the treasure. Globes are always an eye catcher.

Now see, what is the point of learning geography if everything changes anyway? Just kidding!

What a great treasure. Perhaps YOUR grandchildren will have it someday!

What a treasure. Globes are such cool things. I remember playing a game when I was a kid. I would spin the globe, jab my finger down and tell myself that wherever it landed, THAT is where I would live when I grew up. It allowed me to visit so many places in my imagination!

What a wonderful treasure to have! It would be interesting to compare it side by side with a current globe and see what has changed. :)

Oh, an old globe, what a wonderful family treasure! It immediately reminded me of the globe my grandparents had when I was a little child. It always was great fund to make a cruise around the world, just with your finger!

Thanks a lot for your nice comment! Our garden is around 500 square meters big. And yes, my neighbours do garden, too - but not the way I do!... People often stop at our garden fence and admire our little paradise and tell me that it would be far too much work for them to maintain such a garden. Well, for me, it's not at all "work", it the best one spare time activity I can imagine!

The other side is that I often don't have enough time for all the things I'd like to do! On top of gardening and housekeeping, I still have a full time office job that keeps me very busy these days!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Best wishes from Germany,
Anita

That is so nice to have something of your grandpa's. Maybe you can google it and get some idea of the age. Does it have any markings or stamps on the bottom of the base?
