Of course I am probably rushing it a bit, but I think Autumn is just around the corner peeking at us. I truly love Autumn. It is my favorite time of the year. I love the colors and how they blend. I love the lighting that seems to be so different this time of year. I love the crispness of the air as the temperatures start to drop down a little. I love the smells.... pumpkin spices, leaves burning, stews, chili cookin'...... I love anything pumpkin flavored. There is a wonderful ice cream store in Deland, Florida. They make homemade ice cream. Every year right after the 1st of September, I would start bugging the owner about making his pumpkin ice cream. He would tease me and tell me it was about time, but not yet. However, it is really sad if your favorite ice cream is only available a short time each Autumn. Honestly though his pumpkin ice cream has never been rivaled anywhere else. His store is called The Rodeo Whip. If you ever get to Deland, you HAVE to go there. =)
I like to decorate with little touches for the season. I don't have that wonderful touch that Kelli does. Her decorating could be in a magazine. She has that true artist's eye and touch. I am more down home country. There is a place for both kinds of decorating. =) Humor me... OK? Part of our homeschooling was art class. Each season or holiday, Joshua and I would make all sorts of things to decorate the house. At the age of 23, he is not to into that these days. Sometimes I have my friends' children come over and we do art class. They think it is because I am trying to help them fulfill their homeschool art requirement. It is actually a chance for me to get to do some artsy stuff with company. Anyway, it seems that everyone has been busy with their gardens and stuff, so this year, I dug out things I had saved from other years and made a few new things. Autumn has offically come to my house.
I truly celebrate Autumn. I love the palette of colors that God gets out of His paint box. It makes me realize how much He loves us to make things so beautiful before they go to sleep for the winter. It is like one last blaze up of flames before the stark bareness of winter. Enjoy!!!

It's coming up! My favorite time of the year too. I can't wait for all this stinkin hot weather to turn into lovely crisp weather!
Summer is my favorite but fall definitely has the most beautiful colors.
I love fall! Your decorations are so cute!
Fall is also my favorite time of year! I am going to try and have the children help make decorations this year.
I hope to get my decorations out tomorrow. I love fall too and can't wait.
Hi. Its my first time stopping by and I just wanted to say that I love the idea of having the children help with crafts to decorate the house. I too love fall and the colors melding together. There is something warm and cozy about fall, isn't there.
Your decorations are beautiful, Marci! I like to start decorating early too because it seems to help the hot weather end sooner. ;0)
I love the leaves on the window...the girls and Benjamin would love making those!
Kelli
I love fall as well and my decorating is very practical at best.
