Show And Tell Friday

Kelli hosts a show and tell Friday. Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!

Once again, I am going to share some of my son's handiwork. These first 3 pictures are of lucets. A lucet is a two-pronged tool used to produce a square, braided cord. The cord had many uses, from threading through clothes to drawstrings on purses. The size of the thread used determined the size of the cord. We have a friend who makes her children's shoestrings with these cords. Because the cord is square, they don't come untied. He made these and sold them for awhile. They are out of exotic woods. The third one is made out of 3 woods he put together.

This is a trivet he made for me out of oak. It sits on our table and holds a hot casserole dish. He worked really hard to figure out what pattern the would be on the sides. He did not want it just straight. He has a true cabinet maker's eye and is a perfectionist. =)

We love having people visit our blog. Please take the time to leave a note so that we know you were here. You don't have to have a blog to leave a note. If you have something negative to say, you are welcome to say it. However, if you leave it anonymously it will not be posted. It seems the people who like to correct me or say ugly things, don't want to leave their name or a way I can respond to them.

May the Lord richly bless each of you!!!
