Many companies have shifted their operations out of the country to get things done cheaper. Cheaper has a price tag that many don't think about. We also lose some of the homey feel of old towns and buildings. Have you ever looked at the older historical buildings? They have charm and character that is rarely put into the newer buildings and stores. They just re-did an old opera house near us. I am so glad they chose to preserve it instead of just gutting it and using the building for something else. Lots of time and effort went into the project.
Another thing that we like to look for when we shop whether it is food shopping or clothes shopping or really anything we shop for. We look for the Made in America label. Not only do we see lots of recalls of products that aren't safe, but also, it keeps jobs here.
