This morning we woke up to snow on the ground. It is supposed to either snow or sleet all day. If it is going to be cold, I like to see snow on the ground instead of the brown yuck of all plant life sleeping. =) I did not sleep very well the night before last. Well, I made up for it this morning. The Wonderful Neighbors came to the door and brought muffins for breakfast and I am sure the dogs signaled their arrival, but I heard nothing as I was still sawing logs. They had written on top of the foil covering the muffins... "In the meadow we can build a snowman..." They know me well and they make GOOD muffins. I did share them with Joshua. The telephone ringing was what woke me up. Once I got up, there were 3 messages on my phone, so the phone had rung before that and I never heard it. So, I believe I am rested now. =) Here are some snow pictures for you to enjoy. I even left our huge burn pile in the second picture instead of cropping it out. It has been too windy to burn and the pile has grown.
Here is a picture of "the pup", Dixie Darlin'. She has the cutest personality. She is very vocal, but not in a loud way. She softly whines or sounds like a wookie when she is playing or wants out. She also uses her front paws a lot. She bats at the other dogs as she walks by. She will lay on her back with a ball between her front paws and drop it in her own mouth and take it out again. She comes over for some lovin's and rests her paw on your knee. So far she comes as soon as you call her. We really praise her for that, so hopefully it will continue.
Two of the Wonderful Neighbor children came over yesterday to help me do some things. They have not been here in awhile, so I have quite a list for them. =) As they were here helping, it made me do some more thinking on some subjects I have been dwelling on. God set up and designed things to show us His nature. We are examples whether we want to be or not. We are either good ones or bad ones. We need to be especially on our toes in front of younger people.
Matt 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Everything we do or say, especially as Christians, tells these children something. That is also applicable as parents too. Our marriage shows our children a picture of the relationship between Jesus and His bride, the church. Ouch.... My marriage and how I live not only affects my son, but also the children of my friends and family that come over and see us and are around us often. Do they see me reverencing and honoring my husband, or do they see me talking bad about him and correcting him. Do they see an intimate love and friendship between us, or is their dischord? We are a walking Bible that others read. What are they reading in your life? What are they reading in my life?
