Red sky at night... sailor's delight. Red sky at morning... sailor's take warning.
That comes from the book of Matthew.
Matt 16:2-3 But He replied to them, " When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.' "And in the morning, 'There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.
Another one that comes to mind is the saying: A little birdy told me. That comes from the book of Ecclesiastes.
Eccl 10:20Furthermore, in your bedchamber do not curse a king, and in your sleeping rooms do not curse a rich man, for a bird of the heavens will carry the sound and the winged creature will make the matter known.
Can you think of any more?
How about when we say that we read the "writing on the wall"????
