Another George!!

George the third came out of his chrysallis yesterday. I was not sure what was going to happen with him. George the second turned all black and yucky and never emerged. I saw this chrysallis turn black and thought the same thing was going to happen. Then later on yesterday I looked and there was George in the bottom of the jar. I put him outside on my wreath to get some pictures of him. I know you are probably tired of hearing about all the Georges in my life, but it is an awe inspiring miracle to me. I watched this caterpillar who had to be really tiny eat an incredible amount of leaves. You could see the growth in him each day. Then I watch this huge caterpillar attach himself to the top of the jar and hang in a "J". The next part they always do when I am not near (my son thinks they are shy), but they create a small chrysallis that does not look big enough for them to fit in. They go in all green, yellow black and stripey. In just over a week, they emerge looking like the pictures below. That my friends is a miracle that only God could do. That is the same God who hears my prayers and loves me and protects me and cares for me. I who only deserve hell and death. GRACE - getting what I don't deserve. MERCY - Not getting what I do deserve. Thank you Lord!!!!!

The weather is wonderful today. The high is supposed to be 81. It is currently 76 and overcast. I smell autumn in the air. When you smell autumn in the air, 2 things I do not like start to happen as well. One, all those large spiders start moving in for the winter. Yesterday, I went into the bathroom and saw a LARGE, did I mention HUGE spider water skating in the toilet. Well, I helped him body surf to the bottom of the sea. =) He rode that funnel of water really well. The second thing is mice try to move in. We have been using sticky traps with some success in the last year or so. I need to get some more.

Someone shared the following scripture with me. I really loved it and want to print it out.

Deut 28:11-14 "The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Meditate on a truth from God today. Chew on a verse. Hide it in your heart. We serve an awesome God!!!!

Marci, I think we have much in common and are quite likeminded. I am also a homeschool mom. We are at the start of our 12th year of homeschooling. I decided not to discuss anything but gardening and photography on my blog because I have been a part of other hs and religious discussion boards and I have decided that I don't need the stress that comes with controversial topics right now in my life; people can be really rude and mean, especially opinionated hs moms, (aren't we all). I just wanted my blog to be a hobby blog. I wasn't even going to mention homeschooling on the blog, because people then scrutinize and judge your grammar and spelling more and quite often I make careless mistakes.
Anyway, I'd love to be close by so that I could help you with your front yard. I think we'd have a wonderful time.

You take such beautiful pictures!

I know exactly what you mean about the mice and the spiders only we've never been able to get rid of the mice during the warm weather. They aggravate me to no end. Nothing has worked! Not the glue boards, not any kind of mouse traps. We'll catch a couple, but that hardly makes a dent in the population. They've gotten so brazen as to just WALK through the house in plain sight now. I'd like to bring the cats indoors at night to work on the problem, but Joe is adamantly opposed. Not sure what to try next. Hope you have more success.

spiders ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I REALLY don't like spiders! I'm so glad that when I'm in the barn, they blend into the cracks in the wood so I don't usually see them. Oh they make me cringe.

But the monarch is so grand! Love it! I LOVE LOVE LOVE fall!!!

George is just beautiful! And the spider being helped to the bottom of the sea is hilarious, I can totally relate to that!
