This is my wood burning cookstove. It is a Pioneer Maid. It was my only stove to cook on for awhile. It is still the only source of heat that our house has. It is funny how things seem to taste better when cooked on this stove.
Wow that is one great stove. I bet it really puts the heat out, too.

ReplyDeleteOh how neat!!! In the early 1960's we moved to Denver and rented an old house. The stove in it was a combination wood and gas stove. Being a young bride in my 20's I was completely blown away with it. I would give anything to have it today!!! Thanks for sharing.

SO TRUE!! When I was a kid we had a wood burning stove similiar to that one, and that sucker could heat the whole house.... course back then I hated the fact that I had to wake up and get the fire started each morning at 6:30
ReplyDeleteI love your stove! My grandmother has a wood cookstove in her kitchen when she lived in the country. How I loved sitting by it while she cooked.
ReplyDeleteThat is so great! I love wood stoves. My husband grew up with one as their heat source on a mountain in a rather large house. I am always amazed at how cozy and warm their house is in the winter. And I LOVE to go sit by it when we come in from the cold. Theirs isn't as pretty as yours though! :)

ReplyDeleteI bet the food does taste better on that woodstove. My grandparents had a cabin that used a woodstove for heat and cooking. The food she made was fantastic.

Very nice! I'd love to have one of those. We have a wood burning stove-our only heat. It has a flat top so I can cook on top of it when the electricity is out~which happens a lot in the country!
