We are very blessed to live on a farm. We love old fashioned ways of doing things that seem to be fading away. We realize that this lifestyle is not for everyone but we are very grateful that God allows us to enjoy it.

Show And Tell Friday
Kelli hosts a show and tell Friday. Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!
Michael's family had a tradition. There was a piece of woodwork in their kitchen that everyone was measured on. It contained measurements of height for Michael and his siblings and then the grandchildren got added. When they remodeled their kitchen, they removed that piece of wood and still use it for measuring the grandchildren on it. Michael's sister, Suzy, asked me if I would make a measuring board for her family. Instead of being attached to the wall, it would be something that they could take with them if they ever moved. Below is the board that I made for them. The first picture is the entire board and the other pictures are what I painted on it.

We love having people visit our blog. Please take the time to leave a note so that we know you were here. You don't have to have a blog to leave a note. If you have something negative to say, you are welcome to say it. However, if you leave it anonymously it will not be posted. It seems the people who like to correct me or say ugly things, don't want to leave their name or a way I can respond to them.
May the Lord richly bless each of you!!!

What a great idea, Marci! We have measurements written on our laundry room wall but I should get them moved to a stick. I love the cute pictures you painted on, especially the pig!

I have been asked to make them to sell, but never really thought about it. It would have to be to order, as I don't know where I would take them to sell them.

What a darling measure. I treasure our old one. It was made of a heavy paper. I have it safely tucked away now.
