Around 50 lbs. will fit in a 1/2 gallon jar. I also dehydrated some zucchini and yellow squash this year. I like to dehydrate some tomatoes to make into tomato powder. It is great for thickening up tomato sauce or making tomato paste or just to thicken up a soup. I used to freeze corn and beans. This year I did freeze the corn, but canned the beans. I also freeze berries. I can tomato puree.Marcihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00837798938089334872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-1156303009857673602006-08-22T23:16:00.000-04:002006-08-22T23:16:00.000-04:00Marci, what do you dehydrate vs. canning and freez...Marci, what do you dehydrate vs. canning and freezing?Lynn Bartletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17435825858991342289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-1156189441367957202006-08-21T15:44:00.000-04:002006-08-21T15:44:00.000-04:00I'll make sure to check in here often too!I'll make sure to check in here often too!LadySnowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15957860740001351456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-1156187784613055832006-08-21T15:16:00.000-04:002006-08-21T15:16:00.000-04:00MELANIE!!!!! Fun stuff. ~grimace~ I wish that I were as busy as you are. Can't stand being still! I'm enjoying all the pictures of the fruits of your labors. We have some accidentally planted sunflowers in a little mixed flower bed behind our house. They are so cheerful to look at. I'll try to get up a post this week even if it's only photos. God's blessings to you! :)Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02224478477510925985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-1156181374131190552006-08-21T13:29:00.000-04:002006-08-21T13:29:00.000-04:00Marci, Great to see that your harvest is doing so...Marci,
Great to see that your harvest is doing so well. That reminds me that I need to pick tomatoes today too! The sunflowers look beautiful. Ours are starting to die down some after being knocked over by winds during the last storm. Good luck with all the harvesting. The "babies" say hello!
MelanieLadySnowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15957860740001351456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28363093.post-1156121512057801092006-08-20T20:51:00.000-04:002006-08-20T20:51:00.000-04:00Good luck with your harvest.
