What Does Your House Say About You?

Do you ever like to look at pictures of rooms to see different decorating styles? I like to get ideas sometimes. It is hard for me to picture things sometimes. When I see a picture of a room or a garden that really catches my attention, I like to try and figure out what it is that I like. Then maybe I can incorporate it into my house or yard. I went to someone's house one time that had a darling little corner garden. I commented on it and she told me that she had seen it in a magazine. She cut it out and then tried to duplicate it. This can also be done with a room. Furniture can make a statement about your style. Is your couch a big overstuffed one, or is it Victorian? There are many styles of console tables. It can be very plain and simple, very ornate or even very modern looking. What sort of art do you like on your wall? Do you like a grouping, or family pictures, or do you have a favorite artist? These all play a part in the look and feel of your room. If you would like to start checking out some rooms, go to CSN Stores and look around. They have everything you can think of. I am being given another opportunity to work with them in the very near future. I have been looking for several different items and they have had a selection of each.

What is your style?

One of my favorite things to do is browse through decorating magazines and gather ideas. My style is definately country. It is so homey and welcoming. A cheery, cottage-like country with a hint of primitive. :)

Marci, I think my decorating style is a lot similar to yours. If I'm remembering correctly I think it was you who had pictures of a home where you used to live a long time ago. I especially loved the picture that had a rocking chair by a window with beautiful hanging pots of ferns near by. I always wanted to re-create a spot like yours but never did.
Thank you for your blog, I enjoy it every day.
Smiles, Barbara
