Summer Evenings on the Farm

I love to take pictures and I also love to learn new techniques. Something has happened with my camera and I am not sure what it is (maybe it's the operator). =) I used to be able to take really good pictures close up. Now, I have to take tons of them and I may be blessed to have one turn out. I need to get out the book to my camera and look for clues. I also have a hard time taking a picture of yellow flowers. The details of the yellow part all flows together. So, I practice a LOT!!
Here are our Rudbeckias or Black-eyed Susans. I love these, daisies and sunflowers.

Our Echinaceas have done really well again this year. I probably need to separate them and put some in other places.

Here is a close up of a bee, but it seems to be a wee bit blurry.

This one is very blurry, but I kept it because you can see his wings.

Now, this one came out much clearer, but the bee had already picked another blossom.

I liked this picture of the Echinacea flowers just opening up. It reminds me of fireworks.

We have purple martins. They dive bomb our cat because he tries to mess with them. He had followed me out in the yard and they decided to attack. He took refuge here. =)

I finally got some details on this yellow flower by taking a picture from a little bit to the side instead of straight on.

Star was also following me around. She came peeking out from under the Wisteria.

I like how this moon picture turned out. It was hardly dark at all, but this is what I got.

Every night we strain our cow milk. We fill gallon jars and then the left over milk goes to the baby turkeys, the dogs, the cat and Clover our little heifer. We would rather the excess milk go to the steer calves, but they won't have anything to do with it unless we add beet pulp. We did that through the winter, but they don't need it now, so we don't buy it. Clover LOVES the milk. We mix it with a lot of water. This video clip shows you how much she loves it. =)
