Very Important Poll!!

I was having a discussion with a friend who shall remain nameless. =) We were talking about a very important subject. We both approached this subject from 2 different angles. So, we want to see what others do. The important topic was bananas. =) When you eat a banana, do you take the peel off the entire banana and eat it like that and then wash your hands, or do you just pull the peel down part way and hold onto the rest of the peel while eating. Then you don't need to clean your hands.

PLEASE if you read this leave a comment and let us know how YOU eat a banana. You don't have to have a blog to leave a comment. You can put in a nickname or even remain anonymous. We want to see what others do!!!

I will let you know how my nameless friend and I each handle banana etiquette.

Well, for one peel from the bottom up, no little strings that way and I peel a little at a time and then eat as you go. No sticky hands.

I peel it down partially and keep peeling as I go. My hands never touch the inside fruit. VERY scientific. ;)

Peel as I go to eat it out-right.

Peel it all at once if I'm going to slice it up to eat or mash.

Peel as you go is the only way to go.

I peel partway down, then eat the banana as I go. Take off the strings at the same time then deposit the peel and strings in the garbage can.

I peel my banana partially and eat it. However, I still wash my hands afterwards because I'm usually pulling banana strings off the banana. :)

Ginger and Gracelyn both completely peel their bananas.

Peel it all at once, and then eat it. I think it's because I generally eat by my computer and I don't want to leave a banana peel around my monitor. :)

I don't like messy hands if I can help it so I peel as I go. Unless I'm freezing them for smoothies :)

Okay, I love this poll! I personally can't stand the feel of the banana, so I leave the peel on and only pull it down far enough to eat-then pull it down again as needed. HOWEVER, my almost 4 year old daughter will NOT eat a banana until the peel has been completely removed and she has inspected it to be sure that the bottom [where the little black thing is(don't know what it's called, but if you eat bananas, you know what I'm talking about)] is clean and there are no "strings" attached, then she will eat the entire banana almost without taking a breath between bites. :-) It's the funniest thing to watch. Probably would be considered inappropriate by some, but it's her own banana eating style!

I peel it down partway and eat. Repeat till there is no more banana. :)

I don't eat bananas because they make me feel like they're burning my mouth. I think I may be allergic to them. However, if I were to eat a banana, I would peal partially, and keep pealing as I go. Unless I were going to slice it for banana split, in which case I would take all the peal off in one go!

I peel mine down as I go. And a bit of OCD or whatever...I never eat the last bite at the bottom.

I just read that if you peel a banana from the NON-stem end you will get a lot less of those strings. Apparently that is the way monkees in the wild eat them. LOL. I have no bananas on hand to try it.
